HAKKO RYU JUJITSU
About the Instructor:
Chris Piatkowski is a martial artist and has been a practitioner of Hakko Ryu Jujutsu for over 10 years. Chris started his martial arts training when he was 10 in Kenpo Karate and has been training in multiple disciplines since 2006. He also has previous experience in kenjutsu, iaijutsu, jojutsu, and kung fu. Chris currently resides in Japan and continues training regularly.
Hakko Ryu Jujutsu is a gendai martial art created in 1941 by Okuyama Ryuho, a martial arts teacher and shiatsu practitioner. Hakko Ryu’s techniques are based around traditional Japanese medical knowledge and meridian points, using minimal force but appearing to be powerful. The tradition is best expressed in the saying of its founder: “挑まず (no challenge), 逆らわず (no resistance), 傷つけず (no injury). Chris currently holds a 4th degree black belt in the system.
What students will learn:
Students will learn confidence, discipline and a better understanding of how to interact with others with respect and dignity. They’ll also learn about taking care of their bodies and maintaining positive life choices in regards to their personal health.
